In my opinion when a person has a persistent pain, mobility issue or recent injury and it affects their daily activities of living than it may be time to seek out help from a Rehab assistant or a Physiotherapist. Nobody wants to have unnecessary pain, life can be tough enough without having a nagging pain.
Having worked for a few different organizations as a Rehab assistant I can confidently say they are specialized in treating injuries that a trainer may not notice or not be qualified to treat. Rehab assistants are informed from a registered Physiotherapist what exercises are safe to do and would benefit the person in the short and long term. Trainers, rehab assistants and Physiotherapist can all work in conjunction to make the person strong, mobile and pain free..
Physiotherapist and Rehab assistants also have modalities to treat the person to ensure that they are able to partially or fully recover from the injury. Such modalities include: heat and cold therapy, IFC, TENS, Ultra sound, acupuncture, dry needling and some other less common ones like traction devices.
